Spotlight On: Delicious Food Show
Coming soon, to the rejoicing of foodies everywhere, is the Delicious Food Show. For those that need an excuse to be surrounded by amazing edibles, then make sure you buy your ticket now and then have no excuse not to attend! The Delicious Food Show, brainchild of those behind the One of a Kind Show and the Interior Design Show, returns to the Better Living Centre to showcase the latest and greatest in food, beverages, and those kitchen gadgets we can’t live without. If that’s not enough, then prepare yourself for demos, samples, and even the finale of Abbey’s Kitchen Stadium. So…hungry…
Celebrating its second year (after a hiatus in 2012), The Delicious Food Show has returned to entertain and feed us well. Dozens of vendors and chefs will be on site to ply you with their drool-inspiring wares, and to educate you on the newest gadgets. Food trucks will actually set up on the floor for when your hunger pangs threaten to overwhelm you. Toronto’s favourites, Fidel Gastro’s, Gourmet Gringos, Gourmet Bitches, The Feisty Jack and Buster’s Sea Cove will help you fill your belly quickly so you can go back to coveting. Also, for Toronto Life devotees, be on the scene to grab up the first copies of their next Cookbook issue.
On Saturday the show will host the pre-battle for Mount Sinai’s fundraising event, Chef’s Challenge For A Cure. Competitors have been raising money for the hospital, and the top performers will battle it out in the lead up to the finale in 2014.
Another competition not to be missed is the finale of Abbey’s Kitchen Stadium. The finale will draw Matt Basile away from Fidel Gastro’s long enough to challenge Dustin Gallagher, Rodney Bowers, and Bruce Woods. Proceeds will go to support Abbey’s pet charity My Food My Way, so no matter who is victorious, everybody wins!
The Food Network’s Celebrity Kitchen will play host to some of the world’s most beloved culinary names. Food Network regulars Mark McEwan, Michael Smith, Chuck Hughes, Lynn Crawford and David Rocco will be in appearance. And, wonder of wonders, Her Majesty Martha Stewart is coming!
I know it’s a lot to take in, but with only a few weeks between us and one of the best eating opportunities of the month (forget Thanksgiving!) it’s time to get your tickets today!
